In Japan, education cannot be said that inclusive and acceptive with diversity.
When I was in Japan, I negotiated to use computer in entrance exam and classes due to my disability in handwriting (dysgraphia) to 25 high schools. Then only 1 accepted.
Teacher often do not understand perfectly about autisms, ADHD, learning disability, physical disability and other many differences.
Principal of Yangon Japanese School is now worry about current situation.
I am a person who have ASD, ADHD, and LD (dysgraphia). As the concerned person who have experienced local elementary to junior high school in Japan and is 18 years old, I was asked him to share what I did, what I was struggle with and how I solved them.
I also have experience to negotiate with high school in Japan to allow use of computer in exam and usual class.
Therefore, I will do presentation in order to improve situation in Yangon Japanese school at 15 January at Yangon Japanese school.
Initiative and planning
by using my past achievement, I will make presentation and acknowledge what I have felt and enhance diversity of this school strategically.
with other projects related to YJS, I would like to learn how to collect approval.
Ethics of choices and action
I know there is a difficulty by being different from ordinal people but most of them are caused because he/she is there, the environment which most people are different from him/her. it is societal barrier.
I would like to give teachers triggers to consider about what inclusive education is and how it does work.
Global engagement
In my perspective, education will be fund on both country and individual lives and future.
Also, I cannot think Japanese education areas are inclusive and diverse adequately.
By through presentation and discussion, I could achieve Global engagement from here.
